Losing The Weight For GOOD

Have you ever made one of these resolutions?

“This year I’m going to lose 25 pounds!”

“I will make it to the gym at least 5 times a week all year!”

“This is the year I will get in the best shape of my life!”

At the dawn of each new year, we make big, bold goals as we look to the next few months with great anticipation. Goals are wonderful and help us to clarify our vision! The only problem is that without a plan and support those goals rarely come to fruition.

Enter the “C” word…commitment.

Now, you may be ready to click off this page right now but hang tight! We’re here to help.

Most folks use sheer willpower to try and achieve their goals, but willpower is a finite resource that eventually runs out. This leaves the goal-setter frustrated, discouraged, and usually sets the scene for binge eating a pack of Oreos at 2am.

This is because the commitment (or rather the reason for committing in the first place) isn’t there and the goal-setter hasn’t arranged for any type of support to help them keep their commitment. Willpower just doesn’t cut it for long-lasting results.

Commitment is about mindset and identifying the fears or blocks keeping us from truly committing as well as created a support system to keep you going when the willpower runs out.

Why do you want to lose the weight? What does your life look like after the weight is gone? How do you respond to your environment? How does your body feel? What is holding you back?

Dr. Laura works with you to discover where these blocks are and how to move through them. It’s important to make sure your body is not in “Fight or Flight” where it will choose to hold on to additional weight because it’s in survival mode. Addressing hormonal imbalances can also be helpful for those who feel they are doing everything right and just can’t drop the weight or experience low energy. Dr. Laura also uses NET or Neuro Emotional Therapy to address psychological blocks or fears that may be holding you back.

Working with a health coach helps to dig into the behavioral reasons and change the conversation so you can see positive changes that stick.

Phase 1

Phase 1 is all about Weight Loss. Through carbohydrate restriction, we can optimize fat loss by helping you enter nutritional ketosis where your body burns fat rather than quick fuels like carbohydrates and sugars.

Phase 2

Many people find weight loss difficult to maintain which is why Phase 2 is absolutely vital to the success of your weight loss journey. After weight loss, the body fights to regain weight in order to return to its “status quo”. This is when the body craves more calories than it needs which can lead to overeating or snacking. During this phase, a coach will show you how to eat in a way that will keep you feeling satisfied as well as help you balance your fat, carbs, and protein. This allows you to create a stable and nourishing diet so you can keep the off!

Weekly follow up sessions are designed to monitor carbohydrate reintroduction and track weight loss.

Phase 3

In Phase 3, you will receive ongoing support and coaching to ensure stabilization and continued progress toward your goals. At this point you may shift into muscle building, further weight loss, or maintenance.
